Vivienne Carrie | Celebrating two-weeks

‘Parenting itself is a calling. It calls us to recreate our world every day, to meet it freshly in every moment.’  -Everyday Blessings, Myla & Jon Kabat-Zinn

I am so excited to announce the birth of my own daughter, Vivienne Carrie. She came into this world on February 2 in Vancouver, British Columbia. She arrived 19 quick minutes after we stepped into the hospital. She wanted to enter this world very quickly. Natural child birth was one of the most powerful experiences of my life. The moment she was born when they laid her on my chest & wrapped us in warm blankets, the world stopped. I could feel my husband’s warm tears falling down my cheeks & felt total bliss. What a blessing to become a parent! Of course I had to document her two-week birthday with some photographs. Thank you to the amazing women who brought her into this world; our midwife, Elizabeth Ryan & doula, Nancy Sherpa with the South Community Birth Program.  I will be photographing weddings again in May & until then, snuggling with my darling new daughter.

Pure love.

Our family has been blessed by a beautiful angel. The birth of our granddaughter is nothing short of a miracle. We are blessed to be Vivienne’s Nonna and Papa.

She is SO beautiful, and your photographs have captured the sweetness of your newborn Vivienne. I LOVED the picture of her in the basket…you are so talented! I’m so happy for you and Ryan. Don’t you wish you could bottle your sweet baby’s breath to uncap when she becomes a teenager? Life is so swift…relish every moment ;) Love, Auntie Chris

Sarah, I am crying looking at these beautiful photos. Not just of Vivienne, but all on this page. You made me change my mind about having a natural birth, it sounds wonderful.
